if this statement is true it's just more proof that ArenaNet needs to employ someone with an economics degree to handle their economy issues....doing this would essentially be the same as attempting to decrease the value of ferrari's by flooding the market with them...it's only going to increase the value of Lamborghinis or Aston Martins or Bently's...it doesn't remedy the situation.

Silvers are quite o'plenty these days. I think for every 10 basic color dye I've came across, I usally find 1~2 silvers. Not that bad really. But man, I find a lot of purples ones! =[

wow I wish I was as lucky as all of you but I dont farm that much so I cant say. But I have noticed an increase in dye drops. Over the last 2 weeks, I have found 3 yellow, 1 green, and 2 purple. Thats a LOT for me cause those would be like my first dyes since Ruins of Surmia.

Thats a pretty flawed analysis to the situation.. The thing is that there are only 8 types of dye, and the other 7 are already plentiful, so upping the amount of black dye won't have any effect at all on the prices of other dyes, they'll be exactly as popular as they are now.

Well, thats not really right, the price for other dyes would probably go down if black dye was easier to get as thats what alot of people want anyway, their just willing to settle for something else because black dye isn't worth the ~4k each to them.

I am hanging on to all those black Dyes I got to see if this really is another attempt to change the market price for dye by anet. I have my armor just how I like it so we will see if black dye drops like a rock in price.

you're only taking into consideration dye....right now black dye is the GW cow. It sells for an absurd amount of money for what it actually is....if black dye stops being the cow...something ELSE will take it's place. What that item is I don't know...nobody can. But there will always be SOMETHING that is overpriced because of it's rarity. Increasing the drop rates of the current cow is only going to push something else into rarity...it's all relative.
